Hi Guys,
I just bought a Birdy 9 Speed LX on Friday for my wife. But I think I'm going to be the one riding it most of the time!
As it was raining today, we couldn't go out riding, so I gave it a coat of Autoglym today. Now it's looking really shiny...

Hi Guys,
Bought a Birdy Intego two weeks back. Took it out for a ride at ECP last Friday. If the weather is good, might go for a ride again this evening.
Hope to meet up with your guys someday.

Hi,
I am not a Strida owner but a Carry me folding bike owner. Bright Yellow.
Hmm...I bought it like a few hours ago. Kind of funny as I was asked to try to ride along the corridor but due to my poor riding skill I actually hit to a motorbike parked beside the corridor and caused it to fall. Lucky the uncle did not really ask for compensation...
hmm...hopefully I can master the riding skill and join u guys for a ride...oops but I am only a carry me so dun ever abandon me...hoho
nice to be here...

Hi , I bought my Black Strida a few weeks ago and usually riding with my family & kids along Jurong lake park.
This morning I saw another guy riding a red one there.
This is my first folding bike and I love it.
Thinking of using my Strida to commute to my work place in Bedok soon.
Wonder if the MRT officer will make noise?.....if I push my Strida onto the MRT.
Any advice for me?

Newbie on this biking forum pages but I'm impressed! Currently I'm considering getting a strida mini as I'm short (around 5 ft) and also haven't ridden a bike for a long while but like to take it up as I did enjoy riding then (ol' days at east coast, renting choppers). Saw all your trips - wow!!! Notice something: this site is mainly for professional cyclists, right???

From my personal experience, your shoulder should not hurt.
Probably the best is to check with your doctor.
I would guess he will ask these questions:
Did you fall? Any collission or near collision (no collision but you did sudden break, exerting pressure to arm area/shoulder)?
Did you do any heavy lifting? Like all general heavy lifting, and some rental bike can be heavy, done the wrong way can cause muscle injury.
What kind of bicycle and how did you ride?
Posture for mountain bike, bmx and roadbike differ but generally common complaint are numb crotch, backpain (roadbike especially) and injuries related to fall & collision.

Hi all, I am riding a Hasa F1. A cheap bike which I souped up with Panaracer tires 1.25, change bottom bracket, crank and pedals. Now satisfied with the upgrade. Made it lighter and ride faster. Using S-Sun head and tail lights, so bright that the blind can see. I wish to join the Strida rides if I am ever welcomed.

By pro, I mean proficiency, competence
If can cycle and get paid, then I better learn fast fast ! BTW, I'm looking at how to get from point A to point B with a strida when I can't cycle on the road yet. I have tried in the garden at the foot of my block only. Can share some pointers? I don't drive. Take train, take bus. Work in Chai Chee but lives in Commonwealth (10 storey). Would love to cycle on long stretch of ground instead of halting here and there in the garden dodging walkers and joggers. I stopped learning some years ago because of this ...

There is no hard & fast rule. Juz learn to ride & fall like a kid
. Sooner or later u will pick up the skill. If u 1 2 pick up enuf courage to cycle on d road, mayb u could join our group ride.
Lastly, Strida Mini is suitable for rider below 160mm. Don't think that it is safe to have saddle as low as possible. This is d most inefficient posture.

Mr awcute have you cycle to work before? If yes, then you are a pro. We are all pro and armature roll into one depending how you look at it.
Too long to explain, you can figure out yourself.

Cycling to work is not the same as cycling as work.
It is not the cycling that pays.
Like that then I can also be a pro mrt-passenger and bus-passenger?
It is the same as taking photo, if never receive pay for it, then never a pro.
Even if someone take bad pictures but ever get paid, even once that that person is a pro.

I used to think it's impossible for me to ride from point A (Hougang) to point B (ECP), but it is not. You just need to spend some time searching a more comfortable route to cycle. The thing about riding the Strida Mini is it's look, I don't feel out of place riding on pavement, only when situation don't permit then I'll ride on the road. Most of the time people are too busy admiring my bike then complain that I'm riding on the pavement. And the best part of the foldies is that we can pack and ride the MRT.
I used to stay in Commonwealth (10 storey) too. At 95.

i'm staying in blk 56 near the indian temple and the garden. lots of ppl walking around the little playground and paths. difficult to cycle. u use the mini. i'm 5 ft so this is good. reckon 5.0 a bit too big to handle for me wf my aged legs and squeaky knees. think cycling will loosen up some joints before they break down further
more info abt the shoulder thing. it was frozen with spur inside the bend. arthroscopy done to remove spur and mobilisation also done to loosen up the shoulder. now it's working fine. once in a while it plays up. glad i went for the op now life's more liveable - all the more to appreciate the nature that surrounds us

Dunno if it helps, but when I cycle to NTU in Boon Lay, I avoid sidewalks with markets or shops because there are bound to be many pple. Help if you observe when is the 'peak' usage of the footpath. You could always try the route an hour earlier or an hour later to see how it works out for you. Some timings are just bad for us sidewalk cruisers.
