that for sure will help but nails will be laid on the floors to welcome me in the future.
especially peak hours my "thank u" are continuous. so next time they see me coming they walk on the grass-patch. i hope
my mission is, each day i'l extent my route alittle to discover small lanes & shortcuts smooth for my strida to take.

What is add on: SP, BS, FL, RL, HM, GS, BP, TP??? Care to enlighten me?
From
this posting
far far a way to in page 1
SP - Small pouch
BS - Bell
FL - Front lights
RL - Rear lights
BM - Bar mirrors
CC - Cyclocomputer
HM - Helment
GS - Gel Seat
BP - Bike Pump
TP - Tyre Patch
BT - Bike Tools
What I dont understand why Bell becomes BS. I only know BS = Bull Smelly-dropping.
heh... the post is so long long ago... I have almost forget about it.
At first I thought add is address and the rest are some kind of area code or street names.
For example,
SP - Siglap Place, Sunrise Place or Sunset Place
BS - Bugis Street
FL - Fernvale Link
RL - Raffles Link or Rivervale Link
BM - Bukit Merah
CC - Chai Chee
HM - Hay Market
GS - Geylang Serai
BP - Bukit Panjang
TP - Tampines
BT - Bukit Timah

thanks for the concern... i'm more than ok. same goes my strida. just that the metal jiggles @ the rear cant figure out y so? christmas not here yet i told my bike.
Good. You are alright!!
It is always better to check it out closely for the source of the problem. Lest of your problem is some unimportant metal part might have come lose, broken or bent and hitting another metal part. Things might worn out earlier because of this. Worst that can happen is that it maybe an indication of structural integrity being compromised and may post serious problem in the future.... but I don't think it will be that serious.
However, it is always better to have it check out.

yes this is my problem too, but at night I have a solution for you. make your headlight blinks. I hope it has blink mode. If it is not too bright, they will notice the blinking light, and they will look back, although it seems like old people are better at this. Younger ones usually just ignore it.

dont be like that lah. I usually the one who end up on the grass patch, especially over taking aunties with that push trolleys. It will be difficult for them to go to the grass patch, which explains why sometimes I have mud on my bike.
as for crowded places, usually I will sit on the saddle but I will not pedal. Normally just "walk", this way you can maintain your low speed and stability.

I am wondering if rolling the strida with inline skate will be possible for a long distance.
May be quite tiring...

Dear all,
I am "blur" and someone new in this "industry" - the Strida community. Just became a proud and blur owner of a MK5. Why "blur"? There's a story behind it and Vivian knew all about it. "Paiseh" to share my blur blur experience but it was how I came to name myself as "blur". Hopefully my Strida is not a blur one but a smart one! Had my first ride on Sun and it was superb superb "shiok" and fun! Never regretted in buying such a nice and extraordinary folding bicycle.

Hi All,
Just got my 5 together with my gf who got a 3 last weekend. Just riding at ECP got us spotted by other owners already plus got stopped and asked "where you buy har?"
Will be looking forward to the group ride on 30th June and any overseas trip. Planning to demo to my kaki who seems to be mildly poisoned to buy one soon.
In the meantime, will be riding the 5 to see where got Macdonald's Happy Meal Donkey toy.
Add Ons :
SP - Small pouch
BS - Bell
FL - Front lights
RL - Rear lights
GS - Gel Seat
BP - Bike Pump

Hi Stridians,
Bought the Strida 5 Sports last weekend. Glad to meet some friendly fellow stridians there. My other foldable is the OSIM supreme bike which is still serving me well. I usually rode my foldables around the park outside Chinese Gardens (Jurong Lake Park) which is very scenic and tranquil in the morning.

Hi Everyone
I bought my strida last week after having a ride with Steven the owner at the shop at Lavender. To keep it short, I have no regrets. The design is simply out of this world. I first saw it in train magazine in Germany last year 06 which retails at 500 euros. I was tempted to buy it there at $500 euros but thankfully i was patient enough not to do so. It is indeed quite true that you can find almost any kind of product in Singapore. To conclude, this bike will serve me well. Even if it doesn't, it pleases me by just staring at it. Simply out of the box design. I have a new slogan for bike lovers out there - 'Just Buy It!' its good fun.

1) I have a Strida 5.
2) How do I join the Owners Club?
3) How could I get accessories (like Klickfix-type front basket at
http://www.stridasingapore.com/photo_gallery/displayimage.php?album=36&pos=7
) and the seat (like at
http://www.stridasingapore.com/photo_gallery/displayimage.php?album=35&pos=1
)?
4) Thank you for helping.

Um.. I am not sure about you but basket a bit too femine on my strida to my liking. I like the click system, but a bag would be great. So far I have not seen it available in singapore unless there is more demand and the shop will bring it. Hint hint...
By the way, having those things would throw the balance of your strida while you fold and store it. I just have a small pouch attached to the front and if I put 2 can of spam or corned beef inside, it already throw the balance when I fold the bike.
As for the seat, that kind is also not available yet ... but the Velo Geltech seat is available and is great at absorbing bumps:

Thank you, Awcute, for all that helpful info.
But I am yet to figure out how to register my Strida.
I am in India, and in India a bicycle doesn't connote exactly what it does elsewhere. Here it's a shame for an affluent man [or woman] to be seen on a bicycle. The Strida could take that shame off.
Another thing that bugs me is the warranty or guarantee or whatever. If you buy a Strida from UK, you get life-time warranty on the frame. Life-time, literally. The original owner has the warranty going till he dies.
But if you buy it from elsewhere, you don't get that sort of warranty. Why, I wonder.
I think the seat on the Strida isn't perfect. It's tipped upward, for one thing. Maybe if it were tipped downward, the centre of gravity would be more rider-friendly.
Last night, I attached my laptop-bag's shoulder strap to the Strida: with a shoulder strap, carrying the Strida up and down stairs is simple. I was just trying out the idea. Why not two lugs on the Strida for a detachable shoulder strap?

um not sure what you mean by rider frienliness.
if you mean ride like the usual bike, then I say you will get used to strida and after that, you dont want to be on another bike anymore. I just love the upright riding position, no more strain to my back.
But if you mean this:
http://stridasingapore.com/forum/index.php?topic=233.0
, then yeah, that is VERY important issue with all bicycles.
Unfortunately I have not seen those available in singapore yet.

From Ming Cycles in Taiwan. In fact, I will be the India distributor.
I bought my Strida 5 from Ming Cycle. The Ming Cycle lady -- Sara is a gracious lady -- says she won't give a life-time warranty.
In UK, Mr Bass gives his customers a life-time warranty (
http://www.strida.co.uk/bike/warranty.php#ownerwarranty
). [Mr Bass is the Managing Director. Everything Stridan as far the world outside the UK is by courtesy of Ming Cycle.]

Thank you, Awcute.
The penile problem (
http://stridasingapore.com/forum/index.php?topic=233.0
) is one thing. These days I use Hobson seats on my bikes. I sold off my Dahon long back when my back started paining: it was the unadjustable geometry, I realized later. Strida's frame geometry is immaculate. I would say the same thing about Mobiky too.
The first time I read about the penile thing -- it was in Scientific American magazine [www.sciam.com] -- I started designing a seat, and it worked remarkably well. The Scientific American article is worth a read.
But the rider comfort I referred to relates to the upright posture itself. Maybe with a seat that was tipped slightly downward, the posture would have been more upright. The Strida's seat is mounted tipped upward: the mount is like that.
Incidentally, an easier job of raising and lowering the seat would have been a great thing. I am not cribbing. I simply love the Strida, and when you love something, you want it to better itself. I equate my Strida with my Leica M7.
